Scheduled maintenance tonight

Tonight (Monday, between August 4th and 5th) we will be doing some big changes at our data center. As part of that, we will be taking down the service for up to 30 mins sometime between midnight and 5am EST.

The impact on your blog will be minimal. During that time the widget will elegantly disappear and our widget will have no other noticeable effect on your pages. The widget will re-appear when we restore service. You do not have to do anything.

Sorry, but we are growing!!!

We are growing fast and our hardware space becomes a bit crowded.
We are doubling the space we have and doing the move this week.

The move itself is planned for Saturday (Aug 2nd) night EST.
We are planning to do it with no service downtime just a short time of Read Only mode.
Our site might have been in a 'moving mode' for a couple of hours.

As we all know... Servers that are comfortable, serves better ;-)

UPDATE:

Our move to the new space was delayed and will happen on the night between the 4th and 5th of Aug.

It will require short outage of the service which should not harm the blogs in any way.

The outage will take about ~30 minutes and will take place sometime between 12-5am EST.

Up and running from the new data center

We've just finished our move to the new data center. All trains are now running as usual.

The move was mostly uneventful and transition of the services was done without any downtime.

We didn't have a chance to take real photos of the move, so here some fictitious before&after photos for your pleasure:

Moving!

To all our bloggers and partners: We'll be moving to a new data center on the morning of Friday, January 11th. The move is estimated to take about 3 hours. 

During the move our service will be generally available with a few constraints that we want you to know about:

• Our website (www.outbrain.com) will be down during the move. Should you visit the site, you'll meet our moving truck...
• Blogger reports will not be available during the move.
• Any new ratings cast during the move will be recorded but not reflected in the widgets nor via the API. The database will be updated with all recorded ratings as soon as the move is finished.

We do NOT expect any delays with page loads or any other serving related issues (we serve all mission critical files from Amazon's S3 servers to ensure excellent performance).

Service interruptions yesterday

While releasing a new version of our service yesterday, we encountered some service interruptions between 2-7pm EST. We've rolled back to our previous version and everything looks good now. We'll try to release again early next week after we find the root cause for these problems.
