Outbrain Supports Victims of Japan Earthquake and Tsunami With Your Clicks

Mar 12, 2011 at 11:53 AM by | 2 Comments | Permalink

In light of the terrible devastation in Japan, we at Outbrain are donating to the tsunami victims in the best way we know how. As of this morning, we’re pointing paid links across our network to pages about ways people can help the victims in Japan. We’ll be pointing the links to non-profits such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army and Save the Children (E.g., Save the Children Mobilizes Response to Massive Japan Earthquake, Tsunamis), as well as to publishers that have compiled “how to help” pages such as ‘Japan Earthquake and Tsunami: How to Help’ on New York Times’ The Lede.

Outbrain is donating the full cost of this effort, and we’re looking to drive approximately a quarter of a million people to these pages in coming days.

We Outbrainers feel blessed to have a huge reach with news-reading audiences around the world, and couldn’t think of a better way to help mobilize people to support the Japanese victims at times of dire need. If you know of other non-profit organizations that are involved in tsunami efforts that have pages with content explaining how people can help, please drop a note to our team and we’ll point people there as well: support@outbrain.com
